Packing For A Month ( Travel Edition)

ENG: Recently I had to prepare myself for a trip to Spain that will last a month. Having a hand luggage didn’t help me with choosing fewer clothes, so I had to come up with a system and plan beforehand some outfits. The key is imagination and creativity.

ENG: Leaving for a place where the beach is the main attraction is one of the easiest choices to make when it comes about clothing. But what am I doing when there’s a whole month to prepare for? I have to pack outfits for the beach, for a night out, for walking in the daytime, for Church; nevertheless, there are also the books, makeup products, bathing products, shoes, backpacks or bags. So many things for a luggage that small.

ENG: But you have to consider this: less is more. Not, I’m not gonna introduce you to the minimalist style, because I’ve been struggling with the concept for like two years. Just too hard for me (but not impossible).

RO: Dar trebuie sa iei in considerare asta: Mai putin inseamna mai mult.

When you pack, keep in mind the following:

Cand impachetezi, tine minte urmatoarele:

  • There’s gonna be a laundromat. Or you can wash the clothes yourself, depends on where you’re going. So don’t stress that much on the number of T-shirts, underwear or even pants.

  • Try to pack lightly. You don’t need that many pants. A pair or two will do. Don’t forget that you can also have some dresses or skirts to wear.

  • Don’t exaggerate on makeup. If it’s summer, makeup will be a burden anyway because of the temperature and the humidity. If it’s winter, you have to be prepared with some moisturizing products, because of the cold temperature that will dry your skin.

  • Try many outfits that implies the same pair of shoes so you won’t have to take with you more than 3 pairs. Get comfortable ones, weather-appropriate shoes. Also, a certain type of shoes that can be matched with various activities like walking or going shopping or to eat.
Ia-ti ceva confortabil, in conformitate cu vremea.

  • As I explained earlier, creativity is the key. You need to create solid outfits with clothes that can be used for different occasions. Never underestimate your wardrobe.

  • When you only have hand luggage, try to help yourself with a medium backpack that will help you with some free space that can be used for holding your books, your food, an extra pair of shoes, and your wallet.

  • If you’re going to stay with your family while traveling, try to borrow some clothes from them. Helping each other will easily help your luggage size.
Ajutandu-va unul pe celalalt va ajuta mult marimea bagajului tau.

I think that is all. All these tips are written from pure experience and I clearly know how hard it is to leave all these fabulous clothes behind and only take with you the clothes that you actually need. Challenge completed!

Provocare completa!
